Quality Control Supervisor

Pay Rate:  $16.00 as you train on First.  $17 as you move to 2nd.
Shifts:  Hours are 4pm-12:30am normal hours. Overtime stays until 2:30am and is available most nights from Monday to Thursday. Overtime Saturday is also often available

    This position is primarily responsible for ensuring production processes and quality standards are maintained in order to achieve company goals.                                                                        
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                            
    Punctual in reporting to your department everyday at the beginning of the shift and after breaks, ready to start work.                                                                        
    Follows all safety procedures which include; Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO), wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and proper wearing of the company uniform.                                                                        
    Measures and tests products and calculates data concerning materials, products, or process quality and reliability.  Performs fixture and gauge checks, destruct testing, and process capability testing.                                                                        
    Ensures quality checksheets and red tags are available and completed.                                                                        
    Ensure each area has the proper tools for their work and that they are functioning properly and calibrated.                                                                        
    Responsible for physical containment of suspect or defective product in a timely manner and communicating to all internal parties.  Includes new model, process change, and complaints.  Ensures current containment lists are updated in Plex.                                                                        
    Ensure work instructions are available for Quality Check Associates and training is completed for sort/rework activities.                                                                        
    Prioritizes work assignments and assists with sorting or rework to meet production  and shipment schedules.                                                                        
    Follow up and record sort/rework/scrap results and communicate issues or effectiveness of countermeasure activity.                                                                        
    Create and communicate Quality Alerts with required documentation.  Post completed Quality Alerts at designated area.                                                                        
    Establish a clean point of suspect product and ensures product is appropriately identified with IPP or other customer required certification tags for shipment to customers.                                                                        
    Follows up with new operators to ensure training is conducted effectively.  This includes completing evaluations at specified intervals and plans to improve, as needed.                                                                        
    Monitor and audit processes for adherence to procedures and report to the manager of the affected department for follow up (i.e. Quality checks complete, use of tip covers, sensor use, die set up, checking tools available, etc.).                                                                        
    Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.                                                                        
    Communicates issues that prevent productivity or quality goals from being met and assists with resolution.                                                                        
    Responsible to maintain 3S throughout the plant.                                                                        
    Perform part layout with CMM or scanner and prepare documents for customer approval.                                                                        
    Communicate with suppliers with regard to non-conformances and counter-measure activity.                                                                        
    Other duties that may fall within the physical demands.

    Lead by example and help team members understand company policies with regard to safety and quality.                                                                        
    Maintains a positive and professional attitude and exercises patience.                                                                        
Supervisory Responsibilities:                                                                            
    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

        Forklift Operator                                                                    
Education and/or Experience:                                                                            
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED)                                                                        
    Previous experience as a quality technician in automotive manufacturing or equivalent                                                                        
Physical Demands:                                                                            
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms, bend, talk and hear.                                                                        
    The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.                                                                        
    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
